Jackson Hole Mountain Lion

Wednesday, February 28th, 2007

The following photos were taking by a friend of a friend of a friend. Essentially, I just received a forwarded email saying that somebody had snapped these photos from their kitchen in the suburbs of Jackson, in Rafter J. Apparently, this guy was checking out his reflection in somebody’s porch door.

PS. Its dumping […]

The Canyons hosts a Powder Day on Feb. 27

Tuesday, February 27th, 2007

About 11 inches of snow fell on top of a preceding day’s total of 17 inches. This is the type of mathematic equation that I enjoy figuring out. Carry the one and that means that there was about 28 new inches of snow today, nearly the length of my third leg. Three […]

The snow continues (fingers crossed)

Monday, February 26th, 2007

This just in…its officially winter in the Wasatch. Like New York City bums in central park watch pigeons, the bums of the Wasatch Mountains watch the snow totals accumulate (Bird Cam). There are several reasons why snow recessitates the morale of people in ski towns.
-> It keeps people out of Rehab
-> It allows […]

Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefti Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan

Sunday, February 25th, 2007

If you have graced the slopes of Snowbasin, the chances are that its the closest that you are ever going to get to the great country of Kazakhstan. To the lookers left of this resort is the Strawberry Gondola. Being that Snowbasin hosted some of the 2002 Winter Olympics events, they have decided […]

Feb 23 - Snow hits Utah

Friday, February 23rd, 2007

I was able to skip outta work this afternoon and pull a few turns at the Canyons.  Obviously, there wasn’t as much snow as there is in the Cottonwoods, but there was enough to fill in the ‘loose’ gaps of the Canyons.  I was joined by the delightful Nate Brunson, although he is a bit […]

Thursday, February 22nd, 2007

My father was able to grace me and the great state of Utah with his presence yesterday. Dad arrived for a layover from Las Vegas. We had a fantastic dinner at Prime steakhouse. The majority of the discussion pertained to the ‘Life of Brian.’ In the end the wine won and […]

Powder Mountain

Sunday, February 18th, 2007

Five of us made the trek to Powder Mountain yesterday. There was enough snow to make it a good day of skiing. We hiked toward Jane’s Peak.

Miraculously, helicopters were landing below us (center of the photo below). The cost benefit in cases like this is more beneficial to the hiker…

I know these people (and sometimes hang out with them)

Friday, February 16th, 2007

This is what kids from Maine like to do when they are ready for a night out on the town. Seth would use the infamous line “I’ve got room for one more in this One-Piece.”  It didn’t pan out for him.  Ben just like looking like a really smrt person.

Snowbird Feb. 16th

Friday, February 16th, 2007

With the lack of snow this year, any sign of precipitation is just beckoning the people of Utah to form a massive line at the Snowbird tramdock.  God could sneeze and people would construe it as snow…the next thing you know, they are driving up Cottonwood Canyon and looking for fresh tracks.  Well today was […]

Photos from Closing Week at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort

Tuesday, February 13th, 2007

These photos have so much depth.  This is by far one of the best, so called, ’slideshows’ that I have ever seen and been a part of.  It completely captures all moments of the last days at ‘the resort.’  This epoch (SAT for ‘period in my life’) was truly an enormous amount of fun and […]
